BWW Inspector
Select Tools->BWW Inspector from the main menu to display the BWW code viewing screen.
This
screen shows the currently selected score in terms of BWW codes. It
will display this for ANY loaded or new CelticPipes (single melody
part) bagpipe score.
Use this window like a text editor. You can make changes to the
codes and then press the Update button to see how any changes you have
made affect the score.
To use this tool successfully, you must be aware of its current limitations.
Limitations
- It will only work onBagpipe/Practice Chanter tunes. It is not available for any other
instrument, including percussion, as there are no BWW codes to describe
the notes for these instruments.
- It will only be available if
the score has a single melody part i.e. no seconds. (Though you could
always split the score and work on separate parts and then recombine
later).
- Not everything in CelticPipes can be represented with BWW codes. You
may lose some of your original CelticPipes score information if you
update with this tool. You can always use Undo to get back to the point
before the update though. We recommend that you save it first!
- Not all BWW codes are supported yet, but with time they will be. Also, anything that CelticPipes does not support itself will
be ignored e.g. Piobaireachd structures, 2 of 2 & 4 time brackets etc.
- The note and grace note timing information in the header is not yet active but it must be included
for formatting purposes. It will be supplied automatically and it can be ignored. (It may be mapped to the
CelticPipes grace note timing information in the future).
