Line Copy
The Line Copy
and Line Paste
functions work in a similar way to Bar Copy
& Paste, i.e. no selection is required. Instead, they operate
on a
whole line. They can also be used to take the contents of lines and
copy them to other documents (on other Tabs).
NB: The
contents of the destination line will be replaced but you can always
use Undo if you have made a mistake!
Most
traditional music scores contain
bars and even lines that repeat throughout the tune, making this a
valuable feature to
help speed up note entry.
To
Line Copy
- Click anywhere on the line to
be copied (selecting any note on the line is fine and provides a useful
indication of the source line).
- Select Line Copy from
either the Edit item on the Main
Menu or on the (right-click) Context Menu.
To
Line Paste
- Click anywhere on the
destination line - there is no indication that this line is selected. You can always select Undo if
the destination was incorrect!
- Select Line Paste from your
chosen menu and the notes and bars you copied should appear.
The Line Paste
operation should automatically space the notes evenly in
the destination line.
Note: If the number of bars
differs between the source and destination lines, barlines, endings may
be changed. If this is the case, you may need to modify these manually
with the structure toolbar.
