File list pane (music explorer)

The File List pane is visible when the Left pane button File list pane toolbar button selected is selected.

This pane always docks to the left of the main screen.

The File list pane has this structure:

It is essentially a view of the files and folders contained in the currently selected folder.

The current folder is selected by clicking on the Music Folders button and browsing for a folder to open. When the folder is selected, its contents are displayed in the Pane. This location is persisted from one session to the next.

Using the list

The list will contain any files it finds in the current folder which have file extensions:

.cepx - CelticPipes 3 format
.cep - CelticPipes 1 & 2 format
.bww - Bagpipe Music Gold & Bagpipe Player/Reader format

All other formats are ignored.

Clicking on any file (single or double) will open it and the file will appear on a tab in the centre of the main screen. It will only open the same file on a tab once. If you really need to open more than one copy of the same file, use SHIFT-click to open a duplicate of the same file.

Clicking on a folder Folder

will open the folder and this will become the current folder. The file contents of this folder will be displayed in the list.
NB: To move back up to the folder above, right-click anywhere inside the File list pane and you will return to the folder you descended from. (this will only work if you clicked on a folder to descend in the first place).

Other buttons

Samples - Pressing this button will switch the current folder to point to the Sample scores folder i.e. show the sample files supplied by CelticPipes.
Delete - If this button is clicked when a file is selected, the file will be deleted immediately from the current folder (after confirmation by the user).
Share - Pressing this button will show the Sharing dialog, which is described in more detail here .
