Concepts and Terms

Active Score

As the software is capable of opening more than one score at a time, it makes use of tabs - one for each score. One of the loaded scores is selected by clicking on a tab. This then becomes the Active Score.

ALL settings, apart from those appearing on the Options screen (Preferences on Mac) and Custom Embellishments, apply to whatever is the active score. All of those settings are stored with the score document and each document can retain different settings. Care must therefore be taken to make sure you are modifying the required score!

Scores, Tunes and Documents

These terms are used interchangably throughout most of this help file. 'Score' is used more often than 'Tune' as it can refer to both melody and percussion instruments. Each musical score or tune is stored in its own document.
